Set up Recordkite

Setup takes about 15 minutes. When you sign in to app.recordkite.com for the first time, the Get started page walks you through four steps and ticks each one off as you go.

You need to be an Owner or Admin in Recordkite to connect workspaces and map channels.

1. Connect Slack

We connect Slack with you on a short onboarding call. We’ll walk through what Recordkite can and can’t see, answer questions from your Slack admins and check everything works.

When it’s done, Connect Slack shows as complete and your Slack workspace appears under Settings → Connections.

If your Slack workspace requires admins to approve new apps, a Slack admin will need to approve Recordkite. Invite them to the call, or ask them to approve it beforehand.

2. Connect Attio

Click Connect Attio and choose the Attio workspace you want conversations written to. Attio asks you to approve Recordkite’s access.

Recordkite connects once for the whole workspace. Your teammates don’t need to connect Attio themselves.

When you connect, Recordkite adds a Slack conversation activity type (on Pro and Enterprise) and a Last Slack interaction attribute to companies, people and deals in your workspace.

Tip

In Attio, add Last Slack interaction to the Highlights on companies, people and deals, so it shows at the top of each record’s Overview.

3. Add Recordkite to a shared channel

In Slack, open a Slack Connect channel you share with a customer and type:

/invite @Recordkite

Everyone in the channel, including your customer, sees that Recordkite was added. The channel then appears on the Channels page in the dashboard.

4. Map the channel to an Attio company

On the Channels page, click Map next to the channel, check the suggested Attio company and click Save. Recordkite starts logging new conversations straight away.

What happens next

• Recordkite matches the people in the channel to Attio people. If it can’t match someone, they appear under People → Who is this? for you to link. See How people are matched.
• The first new message in the channel starts a conversation. Its summary note and Last Slack interaction appear in Attio within about 15 minutes. See What Recordkite adds to Attio.
• Invite your team so they can help link people.
